Li Ming and I took part in a wilderness survival program yesterday, and it has been one of the most unforgettable experiences since high school.

Early in the morning, we set out. Li Ming was carrying a compass and a tent in his backpack, and in mine there was a flashlight, a map, a knife, a first-aid kit, some matches, candles, food, and clothing.

On the way to the campsite, we climbed a hill, and then we swam across a river, pushing the backpacks on a large piece of wood we had found by the river.

As we got into a forest, we lost our way. Luckily, we found the right direction with the compass.

By the time we arrived at the campsite, it had already been dark. Li Ming then put up the tent, and I made a fire and started cooking.

The two of us spent the night in the forest.

We learned to use knowledge gained in classroom training to solve problems. It was quite an experience for us both, which I’ll never forget for the rest of my life.

On the way to the campsite lay a hill, and we succeeded in climbing it over. After that,we were caught by a rushing river. Fortunately, near the bank we happened to find a wooden board on which we placed our backpacks, and we swam across the river, pushing the wooden board ahead. On the opposite bank of the river stretched a forest in which we got lost. Thanks to the compass, we turned out to tell the right direction and made our way to the campsite in the end. The dark setting in, Li Ming was busy putting up the tent while I set about making a fire and preparing the food.

Thirty-eight years ago, the late Chairman Mao called on us to learn from Lei Feng. To mark the occasion, we organized an activity at a nearby bus station today.

At 8 o’clock in the morning, we arrived at the 712 bus stat ion, where we were warmly welcomed by the drivers and conductors.

Then we broke up into several groups. Some of us taught some drivers and conductors English, while other cleaned the buses. Still others directed traffic at the crossroads near

the bus station and helped the elderly cross the street.

Staff members of the bus station and our classmates then took part in a general knowledge quiz on the Olympic Games in the afternoon, which was great fun for both sides. Around four o’clock, we said goodbye to one another, and felt very happy on the way home.

Today’s activity has taught us the new meaning of the spirit of Lei Feng: Sharing with others what you have—your time, energy, or knowledge—makes you feel warm in your heart. It has truly made a difference in how I feel about myself.

范文三:

Story of a Tree

Once there was a family living in a cabin under a huge tree. Its strong branches and thick leaves kept the family safe from the wind and rain. Sometime later, they felled down the tree with an ax, as they were building another cabin. They needed the wood for its walls and the branches and leaves for its roof. But before the completion of the new cabin, there came a storm. And strong winds blew away the roofs of both the old and new cabins, because the tree was no longer there to protect the place from the wind.

吕杰:

Once there was a family living in a cabin under a huge tree. The huge tree with thick leaves provided a shelter for the family by withstanding the elements for them years after years. Without realizing the huge function of the tree, the family cut it down into pieces with which they built a new cabin. Admittedly, the newly-built cabin met their immediate needs and the family could enjoy a better residential condition for a short while. In fact, an underlying tragedy loomed ahead. Eventually the tragedy befell the family. One day a gale broke out and both the cabins were swept down without the protection of the tree. The family could not but cry outside their fallen cabins. However, it was no use crying over spilt milk.

They each gave a speech telling us what they would do when they were elected. Then we voted for the monitor. The result was 28 to 15 in Wang Hong’s favor. Wang Hong became our new monitor. The whole class cheered for her, and she promised to do the best she could for us all.

Dear Harry,

How are things going?

Last Monday, our class held the monitor election in the class meeting, a fierce competition starting with a wonderful speech between the two candidates, Liu Dong and Wang Hong. They each showed their own determination. After that, all my classmates stood in a queue putting the slip on which they wrote down the name of their ideal monitor into the box in the front of the classroom one by one. Then, we paid full attention to listening to the names of the two competitors. Each of us held our breath and prayed for the one who we had voted for silently. An atmosphere of tension filled the classroom. Later, the result on the blackboard clearly showed: 15 votes went for Liu Dong. Compared with the votes of Wang Hong, Liu Dong got 13 votes less than those of Wang Hong, that is, Wang Hong who had a strong sense of responsibility was expected to be our monitor by the most classmates. Smiling, Wang Hong received the warm welcome and congratulations. At that moment, we waited patiently in expectation of the address on her inauguration. At last, she promised that she would set a good example to us and would spare no effort to do what she could to help us make great progress in all aspects.

I want to know how the monitor election is carried out in your class. Hope to hear from you.

Best wishes,

Dear Harry,

Last Monday, our class held the monitor election. The two candidates gave their speeches first and after that other students put the paper with the name of the ideal

范文五:

Last Thursday, we had a class meeting to discuss where to go for our spring outing. We came up with several choices such as going boating, climbing a mountain, and going to an amusement park. Finally, we decided to go mountain climbing.

The next day, we set off early in the morning. While climbing the mountain, we enjoyed the warm sunshine and a beautiful view. However, when reached the top, we were shocked to see litter here and there, such as bottles and banana peels. Then we started to pick up the litter. Afterwards, we put the rubbish into the nearby recycling bin and non-recycling bin respectively.

We were tired but happy.

With spring coming, the weather becomes warmer and warmer, and trees and grass turn green. What a splendid spring!

The beauty of spring struck my classmates, resulting in a pleasant spring outing last week. Before our going outing, we discussed warmly on where and how to spend the precious chance of touching nature. Some students proposed a visit to the amusement park. Some suggested to row boats on a river. Others advised to go hiking. Eventually, we reached an agreement of going hiking.

Having prepared for the hiking, we set off the next day. The day was so nice that the sun shined brightly, and birds sang and danced among trees and bushes. However, the rubbish thrown about everywhere on the mountain broke down our mood in spite of the good weather. Therefore, we devoted ourselves to picking the litter, putting them away in the plastic bags. After going down, we separated them into available ones and unavailable ones, and thus we put them into different bins.

During the day, we have no time to enjoy our eyes, instead, we applied ourselves to cleaning up the mountain. But yet, we still felt happy owing to our efforts to protect our environment clean and tidy, which was much more important than enjoying a big feast for eyes!

Green Action in Our Class

April 12 is memorable because our class had a meaningful experience on that day. In the morning, we bicycled to the suburbs to plant trees, talking and laughing all the way. Upon arrival, we began to work immediately. Some were digging holes. Some were carrying and planting young trees. Others were watering them. After getting the work done, we put up a board reminding people to protect the trees. Before leaving we took some photos to

record our green action. Seeing the lines of trees, we all had a sense of achievement. We feel it's our duty to protect and beautify our environment.

Green Action in Our Class

On the call of beatifying our motherland, our class made a meaningful trees-planting activity in the suburbs on the twelfth, April. It was a sunny day. All the students in our class got together in the morning and set out to the destination by bike. Arriving the suburbs, everybody immediately began to work. During the time, Some students dug holes, and some students carried young tree seedlings, while other students watered the planted young trees. After planting all trees, we built up a post with the words: loving trees, which we meant to set as a reminder for educating people. After that, we as a class had a picture before the trees we planted. We are so proud of our great work and we have decided that we will carry out the Green Action every year. We are fully convinced that only in this way, can we contribute to build up a more harmonious relationship between human beings and nature.

Last week our class organized an activity to thank our teachers before graduation. On Thursday we had a class meeting to discuss what to do. We came up with many good ideas. Then we decided to send them gifts and do some good deeds.

The next day we carried out our plan. Some of us cleaned the teachers’ office and decorated it with pots of flowers, making it more comfortable for the teachers to work in. Others helped wash the cars or bikes. And still others gave well-prepared gifts to the teachers, who were very pleased and expressed their best wishes to us.

We all felt happy about what we had done for our teachers.

Our Social Practice Activity

Our class visited the Capital Museum last week, and it is one of the most impressive social practice activities since high school.

Last Thursday before our visit,my classmates and I searched for as much information as possible through the Internet, such as its location and the latest exhibitions and shows.

On Friday morning we gathered at the entrance at nine o’clock, and then a beautiful guide showed us around the exhibition on the traditional buildings in Beijing, where we learned the development of our city architecture. After that,we got to know our folk culture by watching the digital film and learning to make some paper-cuts and paint masks in DIY area. Before we left at twelve,we also went to the craft show that I was interested in. The capital Museum is very large and attractive and the activities there aroused our great excitement and interest in our traditional culture and custom. We enjoyed the visit so much that most of my classmates decided to come again later.

A Fire Drill

Last Friday, a fire drill was carried out in our school. Before the drill, our teacher carefully explained to us what we should do when there is a fire in the school. Every one of us listened attentively and remembered the right procedure.

At 9:30 when we were having a Chinese class, the fire alarm rang, Without hesitation, we went down the stairs in order as planned. Following our teachers ’ instructions, we moved towards the exits. Three minutes later, all the students came outside the teaching building safely, which was really an experience. I think all the schools should have these kinds of drills so that every student will know what they should do when they meet certain disasters.

范文十一:

One day, I was going to play football as usual when I saw Mum was washing clothes. She looked so aged and tired. “It’s too hard for Mum to deal with the housework.” So I decided to stay to help Mum wash the clothes instead of playing football. A moment later, Ming Ming came and asked me to play football with him, but I refused him. I went on with my work until I finished washing all the clothes. I was tired out, but looking at the clothes on the rope and thinking of the words with which Mum praised me, I felt very comfortable. It’s our duty to help parents do some housework, I think.
