Many years ago, the most prominent problem of the polluted

environment is that the river and the water were changed their color, some fish even died for the polluted river. Now the situation becomes ever worse, lately, in the big city, like Beijing and Shanghai, people are annoyed by the bad weather. It is not the rainy day, but the haze around the sky, there is no way for people to run away for it. Beijing's air

pollution reached dangerous levels yet again this week, marking the third consecutive day of severe smog, municipal environmental authorities said. Several places in Beijing were blanketed with thick yellow fog so that everything around disappeared from our sight.

It's reported that the haze contains toxic elements, which will do great harm to our lungs and hurt our bodies, such as the respiratory

system, the cardiovascular system and so on. Part of the reason that haze caused is the dry weather, but the severely damaged environment

contributes a lot to this nightmare. To live a better life we have to push on with the economy in recent years, but it wound be meaningless if we have to achieve it at the cost of our breathing air. What we do to the

environment now, however, has been paid back by the environment; therefore we should realize that the revenge from the nature is way too huge, and that no matter how bad the environment is, we still need to do something to fix our mistakes.

In my opinion, protecting the environment is the main task. In the first place, the number of cars should be limited and people should be called on to use more public transports. In the second place, the

government should call for construction sites to limit construction activity that creates large amounts of dust, as well as ask industrial enterprises to reduce emissions, during hazardous pollution days. In addition, the

municipal traffic authorities ought to limit the government vehicles usage during smoggy days, with the goal of reducing such usage by 30 percent compared to normal days. Last but not the least, the education authorities should also require us students to reduce or stop outdoor activities during periods of heavy air pollution. Only in this way can we expect to have more sunny days.
