Yesterday afternoon, I was walking home when suddenly I came across a grandma standing alone and murmuring. Seeing her scared face, I supposed she must be a lost old woman with age-related dementia. Without hesitation, I walked towards her and offered my help.

At first, I attempted to ask her name, address and telephone number. Though patient as I was, it seemed that I couldn’t make myself understood since she was a little incautious. When I almost began to feel a little anxious, suddenly, I noticed the wristband on her wrist. How lucky I was! According to the address and telephone number wrote on it. I called this grandma’s relative and told her our location. Upon her arrival. She thanked me warmly and expressed her appreciation for my kind help. Finally, I waved good bye to them.

Seeing them disappearing into the distance. I felt a sense of warm and joy filling myself. Recently, more and more old people with age-related dementia got lost. I thought it was everybody ’s responsibility to offer our helping hands to the poor old people. And, you know, the feeling of helping others was just so cold!

Yesterday afternoon I ran into a thorny and difficult situation but I’m proud to say that I managed it quite well. As I was walking home yesterday, an old woman came into my sight. She was standing by the road alone with a walking stick in her hand, talking utter nonsense from her mouth. It seemed like her brain was in a blank. It suddenly occurred to me that she must be a patient suffering from age-related dementia and her families must be desperate to find her.

So I asked her questions about her name, her address and the telephone number and still she made no reply, for she forgot them completely. Without knowing what to do, I had a glance at her wristband. And it couldn’t make me happier seeing that all the necessary information I needed to contact her family was recorded on the wristband. It appeared such things happen frequently. She lived in XiLuYuan community and her telephone number was 13641237890. I made a phone call to her family and then waited for her family to pick her up. Finally it was her daughter who came. She expressed her gratitude by keeping saying “thank you” which made me feel content. We bid goodbye to each other. I thought that the society needed to show its care and love to the old as I watched the poor old lady went back home with her daughter by her side.
