Jane Eyre book review

In China, a proverb says that there used to be a true love, travelled far away across the sea and arrived in front of me, that was Jane Eyre. It shapesa tough female image that who has a low birth, hard life but always adhere to maintain independent personality, pursue individual freedom and never bow to life by the sorry tale of love story between Jane Eyre and Rochester. The ideal and pursuitof female that Jane Eyre represents is beyond time and space, and becomes eternal in people’s minds. Jane Eyre mainly illustrates thethemes that the value of a person is equal to dignity and love.

There is saturated with most of women's independent consciousness in this book.Try to image that if Jane did not have that independent

consciousness and lost her purity, the book then is no longer a classic which makes us touched and tearful. Why does ‘Jane Eyre’ so successful? It is just due to her independent personality and inspiring personality charm.

Jane Eyre’s parents were both dead and she depended on her aunt for living when she was young. Her aunt and cousins were bad for her with cold-shouldered, insulting and even beating, all of which put a severe blow to her. But it may be because of these, let Jane. Eyre had infinite confidence and strong unyielding spirit.

As a humble tutor, she never feels inferior in front of Rochester, onthecontrary, she thinks they are equal and must be respect to each other.

Her integrity, noble and pure character struck Rochester deeply. He begins to see her as the one who can talk to himself equally in spirit, and gradually, falling in love with her deeply. When Jane Eyre knows that Rochester already has a wife, she determined to leave although she loves him very much. “I must obey the world recognized law enacted by god, I must stick to the principles accepted when I am sober rather than crazy just like now” She says, ”I must commit to this policy”. This is the leaving reason that she talks to Rochester. But thinking more, a deeper reason is that Jane Eyre is aware of being cheated by one she most trusts and loves. She considers that her pride is mocked. And the love between them is not pure. This goes against her pursuit of a pure, beautiful and sincere love, and also against her principle of life. So Jane Eyre refuses beautiful, rich life, leaves her truly lover. This is the most spiritual glamour place that Jane Eyre have. The end of the novel pretty nice. The manor is destroyed and Rochester himself becomes disabled. However, such a condition, makes Jane no longer in the conflict between dignity and love---she is dignified when she and Mr. Rochester got married, at the same time she also obeys the love she always pursuits.

Jane Eyre despise wealth, she agrees that true happiness lies in good spirit world and noble, pure heart. I respect the ideal of a better life that author puts forward--dignity and love. Nowadays, most of people abandon love for the sake of money and status, few of them like Jane Eyre abandon everything for

the sake of love and personality, without any hesitation. I think this is the theme that Jane Eyre shows.
