Last Saturday, our class visited the Museum of the Anti-Japanese War. When our school bus arrived at the Museum, we got off and entered in line. The moment we went into the exhibition room, we were attracted by the pictures and descriptions about the war on the wall. Some students took notes while others had a little discussion. We were shocked at the cruelty of the war. Then we gathered in another room and listened to an old soldier telling the stories about the war. Therefore, we had a better understanding of the history.

Before we left, we all came to the front of the museum and took a picture with the old soldier in memory of our visit. We were very glad to meet such a true hero.

We hope by visiting the museum more people can remember what happened in the war and treasure the peaceful life.

Last Tuesday, our school organized us to visit the Capital Museum.

At 7:30 in the morning, we gathered at the school gate as planned and got on the bus one by one. We were very excited and enjoyed ourselves on the way, laughing and talking. It wasn’t long before we arrived at our destination—the Capital Museum. Then we gathered around our guide near the entrance and listened to his introduction about the museum as well as rules we need to obey while visiting it. Then we entered the museum orderly and began to visit different sections in it. I was amazed to see a lot of interesting things and was especially attracted by the precious and delicate vases displayed there. My friend took a photo of me just in front of them. We spent the rest of the day exploring and had a really good time. The next day, we had a class meeting and everyone was eager to share his experiences, including me.

It was a meaningful activity and we all benefited a lot from the visit and the sharing.

March 29th, Sunday Fine

Today some classmates and I served as a Capital Library as volunteers. At 9 o’clock this morning, we gathered together at the gate of the library. After getting into the library, we were first trained by a librarian on how to operate the computers to borrow or return books so that we could help readers later. Then, wearing the volunteer uniform and volunteer identity card, we got down to our work. Some of us helped with shelving books and some offered assistance to the people who had problems with using the computers. All of us took our tasks seriously and tried to do them well.

Time passed quickly. Before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye to the staff. On the way back, we shared our feelings happily. When doing voluntary work, we did our part in helping others. Meanwhile, it promoted our social awareness. We all believe volunteering is rewarding and look forward to more of it.
