08/23/06 1 History Lesson A long time ago, Alexander the Great conquered the city of Corinth . The people of previous king. Alexander was also happy because Periander, an intelligent philosopher, lived in Corinth.
“Have you seen Periander?” he asked the city’s people. “I would like to meet him.”marched down to meet him. Sure enough, there was Periander, resting under the sun, “I will grant you any wish you desire,” said Alexander when he saw Periander.
“Will you?” asked Periander without looking up. “Then please leave. You’re blocking the sun. ”
Alexander ’s men were surprised. But Alexander simply smiled and said: “’t Alexander, I would want to be Periander. He understands what freedom is”

My father looked over at me and I could tell he was not happy. “of money, I suggest you quit school right now and work hard. I don’t want you to waste another minute in school.”
“What are you talking about?” I asked. My father was an educated man. He always seemed to value a good education.
