Dear sir,

I ’m writing to invite you to be a judge for the upcoming English speech contest in the A University. Both competitors and organizers consider you as one of the most famous foreign teachers and thus hope you could judge our contest.

The competition will be held in the News Report Hall at five’s o ’clock p.m. on April first. The judge is expected to fairly evaluate each participant ’s performance and give an objective score according to his or her speech ability. Based on the judgment, top three will be selected and awarded. When the contest ends, the judge will be given a gift and invited to take photos with all the competitors.

Hopefully, you can join us. We are looking forward to your reply. Yours sincerely Li Ming

Essay2

In the above picture, many graduates are faced with four choices at the end of a road, such as starting a business, going abroad for further study, taking the postgraduate entrance exam and finding a job. It is difficult for them to choose.

All the graduates hope to find a smooth road to success. For college graduates, it is traditional to try to find a well-paid job to support a comfortable life. However, high employment pressure is now caused by excessive supply of college graduates. Therefore, some graduates may choose to create their own business and others choose to continue their study. They believe that more knowledge means more chances to live a better life. With such belief, some of those graduates will participate in the postgraduate entrance exam to compete for the ticket to

postgraduate education while some born in more financially capable families will go abroad for further study.

Actually, no matter which road graduates choose, they will face enormous competitive pressure. It means that a smooth road doesn’t exist. It reminds us that we should make best use of our college life to improve our abilities.
