I’m glad to hear that you will come to China soon. It ’s great to stay with a Chinese family because Chinese people are very friendly. But there are some differences between Chinese people and American people. If you know these well, there will be no problem with your stay in a Chinese family.

First, don ’t call the mother or the father’s name. They will be glad if you call them mum and dad. Second, prepare a little gift for the family. Give it to them when you get to their home. Third, eat together. Remember, don’t start eating before the parents do at meals unless they ask you to do so. Above all, tell them beforehand if you can’t get home on time.

My first time to cook

Everyone has many first-time experiences and so do I. Now I’d like to share with you my first time to cook.

One Sunday my parents went out. I felt hungry at noon, so I decided to cook for myself. I tried to cook some vegetables, but the pot caught fire when I put some oil into it. Luckily, my mother came back and helped me put down the fire.
